Film Friday #8- Sherlock Holmes

For me this weeks film Friday is one of those films that you don't think you will like, until you end up watching it! The film is Sherlock Holmes which was released in 2009. It has a running time of 2hours and 3 minutes, which flies by!

The description of the film is as follows 'On a quest to solve a string of mysterious and brutal murders, Sherlock Holmes and Watson plunge into a world of dark arts and startling new technologies, where logic, and a good right hook, are the best crime fighting weapons.' In my opinion this film will suit both men and women.
This film was directed by Guy Ritchie and has a host of well known stars. The likes of which include Robert Downey Junior, Jude Law, Rachel McAdams and Mark Strong.
For me there are two candidates for the title of 'Film Hunk of the Week'. The winner of this title is Robert Downey Junior! One of the main reasons he won is that you can see him topless and fighting within 20 minutes of the film starting. A something else for you ladies to enjoy is that is not the only time this hunk has no clothes on!

There are two things I know for certain after watching this film: one I definitely want to see the next one. Two I think I might invest in some Sherlock Holmes books.
If you want to know if Robert Downey Junior can win the title of 'Film Hunk of the Week' for the second Sherlock Holme movie. Then make sure you check back next week when I will have my review of the second Sherlock Holmes movie up for your viewing.

Rimmel London Space Dust

I love Rimmel London Nail polish as you probably can tell! Again I have no clue when this line of nail polish came out but I'm glad I know about it now. Again this polish is a bargain at £3.99.

The colour I picked up was 004 Luna Love.  It is a gorgeous pink glitter colour. It is a full glitter Nail Polish. The little glitter flecks are different colours which work really well  in this polish. This nail polish will be great for the party season or when you want to add a little sparkle to your life!

There are only two downsides to this nail polish! First is that visible small chips  can be seen within two days. The other problem isn't really to do with the nail polish itself  No the other problem is to do with removing this very glittery polish.

However never fear because next week I'm going to be showing you some tips when removing glitter nail polish.

I still recommend you guys try out this line of Nail Polish!

Rimmel London Cocktail Colour

So I'm not sure when this line of Nail Polish was released, but I found it in Superdrug's and had to try it out!  All my past experiences with Rimmel nail polish have been good!
One thing I love about this product is that it combines two things I love: Cocktails and Nail Polish! This particular bottle of nail polish was only £3.99, such a bargain!

I picked up the colour Hawaiian Punch. This is a gorgeous reddy pink colour. What I loved about this polish is that the polish have these teeny tiny flecks of sparkle. These flecks make the polish even more sparkly! I also love that in some lights the polish looks even more pink!

The brush for this polish is a good size. it is big enough for you to apply one coat in a single stroke! Which can be time saving!

Overall this is a great polish and will be perfect for the party season, Sadly the only downside is that it does chip quiet easily. After one day, which included a 4 hour shift and a shower, there were small chips right at the tip of the nail.

But either way you should check out this polish. You won't regret it!

Moving Out Series #3- Tips for Saving Money

Welcome to my third and final part of the moving out series. I hope that you guys have found this series useful! In this part of the series I will give you some tips on trying to save those pennies when moving. In my opinion moving out is one of the most expensive things you can do! Now these are just a few things that I found useful while I was moving! So let's get started!

1) Buy Items in Advance
Now this may sound like a bad tip for saving money but let me explain what I mean. As soon as you decide you want to move start looking for things. For example if you are out shopping and see a dinner set on sale and you like it pick it up. Again doesn't sound good for saving money but buying in advance means there is less to spend closer to the time.

2) Take Advantage of Sales
Now this one is pretty self explanatory but if you see a sale advertised go and have a look around it. Remember just because something is in the sale doesn't mean there is something wrong with it!

3) Charity Shops
Now some people have some mixed ideas when it comes to Charity Shops. But just because something is second hand or brought in a charity shop does not mean there is something wrong with it. You can find some great things in these charity shops at a good quality. For example the sofa set in my new flat came from a charity shop. Just remember that all the items in charity shops have more than likely been cleaned before going on the shop floor.

4) Bargain Hunt eg Poundland
Panicking pennies where you can will help in the long run! The stock in shops like Poundland and 99p Store is still good quality. Doing a bargain hunting shop can save you money which you are likely to need once you have moved into the place.

5) Use Supermarkets/Friends to get boxes
By this I mean use them to help when it comes to getting supplies for packing and what not.  Every supermarket will have a number of boxes that there delivery comes in daily. Now these boxes will end up being recycled but you can still use them to pack up your stuff. Ask your friends if they work in shops or Supermarkets to pick up boxes for you I'm sure they won't mind.

6) Compare Prices
Now I'm sure most of you have seen when you do online shopping there is a compare button. Well this is one of the times that you want to take advantage of that feature. Not only that feature but also the multiable tabs feature. Use these to compare all types of things when you shop for your new place. But don't just compare prices online make sure you do it in shops as well.

Finally I just want to say a thank you to everyone who has read this series. It means a lot that you guys read the words I have written.

One final note from me before I let you go and enjoy the rest of your day. Now I know it's too early for some people to talk about Christmas but it is only 42 sleeps away. Throughout December as well as doing my Themed Film Friday for you guys I would love to make these Wednesday Blogs all Christmassy as well. So please get in contact in the comments, on twitter or on the Facebook page and let me know if there is ANYTHING you want to see on this blog in December.

Moving Out Series #2- Top 10 tips when moving (Unpacking and Packing)

So onto the second part of my Moving Out Series is all about packing and unpacking! Now personally I think is one of the biggest parts when it comes to moving! I think this has something to do with putting all your material possessions into boxes.

So onto my tips, the first five is concentrating on packing while the last five will concentrate on unpacking.

Packing
1) Label the boxes with the room name
Now by this I mean put whether the box belongs in the bedroom or the kitchen. This helps you to know where the items go in your new home. It also help when it comes to moving day as the all the items for the kitchen can be found in the Kitchen.

2) Label boxes with the contents
Now I don't mean write a list of every little thing that can be found in this box. What I mean is put a general couple of words on the box so you can easily identify what is in the box. For example if it came from a bedside table, put Bedside Table on the box.

3)  Work in Sections
Now by this I mean work in one part of your current house and pack those items before moving onto the next part. For example you could start in the Kitchen before moving onto the Front Room.

4) Make Lists
Now I don't mean you need a hundred lists. I simply mean make a list of the order in which you want to pack. Or make a list of what you need to pack last. This will keep you organised.

5) Stock up on Supplies
Now this is something I should of done. There is nothing worse than being in the middle of packing and running out of boxes or even tape. It means you have to halt the whole process so you can go out and pick up the supplies.

Unpacking
6) Prioritise
By this I simply mean don't start unpacking books before you unpack your bed, which is what I did. When it comes to unpacking you need to think about what you will need to use first and what is more important than the rest.

7) Go room by Room
This is pretty self explanatory. Simply start a room and finish it before you move onto the next one. This will help with your organisation and it means that once you have unpacked a room you don't need to go back to it.

8) Get rid of your boxes as you go
Now this is something I didn't do, which meant at one point there was a huge pile of boxes by my front door. Also if you get rid of your boxes as you go it means you don't have to do a back and forth run once you have finished unpacking.

9) Take Your Time
Don't rush when it comes to unpacking. Remember there is no deadline. You don't have to have everything unpacked after a week, a month or even three months later. There is NO deadline.

10) Have Fun
Now for me this is the most important tip of all. If you are not having fun while you unpack you are not going to want to do it.  Like Mary Poppins said 'A spoonful of sugar makes the medicine go down.' Now I may have interpreted that wrong but to me it means make something fun and the task wont be so bad anymore.

Do you think I have missed something? Then pop on over to twitter or Facebook (links found on the contact me page) and let me know. Or even leave a comment down below. You never know I might even mention you and your suggestion in the third and Final instalment of the Moving Out Series.
