2022 Round Up : BL Dramas

 So as I watched the many K dramas through out the course of 2022, I also found some BL (boys love) dramas that I watched and adored as well. 

Now I know BL or boys love dramas are not for everyone but I kind of love them. So this is a list of all the BL dramas I have watched in 2022. Not only have I included the title, a few actors names, how many episodes but also what language they are in. I will say all the versions I watched had English Subtitles. 

As a side note this list does not include the Korean BL Dramas they are on my other list found HERE.  So let's get into this list. 

1. KinnPorsche (2022) Thai

Description: Kinn, the second son of a prominent mafia head, is ambushed by an enemy and meets Porsche, a college student who comes to his rescue, thus beginning their reluctant relationship as boss and bodyguard, which soon turns into something more. 

2. Love in the Air (2022) Thai

Starring: Chaikamon 'Boss' Sermsongwittaya, Nuttarat 'Noeul' Tangwai, Thitipong 'Fort' Sengngai,  Wasuthorn 'Peatwasu' Chaijinda

Description:  A Thai story based on a novel narrates the journey of finding true love despite the circumstances. Rain and Sky, both experience their feelings that alter as the seasons sway.

3. Cutie Pie (2022) Thai

Starring: Pruk Panich, Chawarin Perdpiriyawong, Kornthas Rujeerattanavorapan, Natasitt Urareksit, Koraphat Lamnoi, Pharinyakorn Khansawwa

Episodes: 13 

Description: The sons of two companies, Lian Kilen Wang and Kuea Keerati, were engaged to each other at the request of their families. One doesn't want an arranged marriage while the other wants to win him over. 

4. Don't Say No (2021) Thai

Starring: Chalongrat Novsamrong, Ja Phachara Suansri, Chisanupong Paungmanee, Nichaporn Pongsawad

Episodes:  13 

Description: "If I am that right person for you then from now on, you can't say no to me." From friends to lovers. How will this relationship go, when one is a good guy but the other is a bad boy. Is it possible to turn a bad boy into a lover?

Now both working adults, the two have overcome a lot to be where they are. Unfortunately, instead of things getting easier as time passes, life seems to continually try to prove that not everything can be sunshine and rainbows all the time. 

With the other always by their side, will Tharn and Type find the strength they need to overcome life's challenges or will they prove to be too much in the end?

Description: Takara San, a high school student who belongs to a popular group in class, and Taichi Amagim a pure boy who is not a conspicuous type but is like by people, realize their love for each other. 

8.Mr Unlucky has no choice but to Kiss (2022) Japanese

Starring: Ryosuke Sota, Yusuke Sato

Description: Fukuhara is a student who has bad luck that causes problems everywhere he goes. One day, he runs into Shinomiya, a fellow with good luck who decides to help him out. Now, in order to divide luck, they need to be with each other all the time. 

9. Life - Love on the Line (202) Japanese

Starring: Jin Shirasu, Raiku, Fujiko Kojima, Shiori Doi

Episodes: 4

Description:  One day after school, the serious Ito Akira and the child-like Nishi Yuuki meet by chance, as each endeavours to remain walking on the sidewalk's white line. As time goes by, Akira recognizes he is drawn to Yuuki in a way that is new to him. Yuuki, for his part, is frustrated that they only get to meet on the sidewalk. Akira decides to act upon his feelings and kisses a surprised Yuuki, who agrees they need to walk side by side for a change. 12. My Beautiful Man (2021) Japanese

Starring:  Riku Hagiwara, Yusei Yagi

Description:  Seventeen-year-old Hira tries to remain invisible at school, never wanting to expose his stuttering speech to his classmates. He views the world through his camera lens, detached, until one daye Kiyoi Sou walks through the classroom door.

13. Ai Long Nhai (2022) Thai

Starring: Meen Nichakoon Khajornborirak, Ping Krittanun Aunchananun,

Description: Ai being expelled from study and forced by his father to return to Thailand where he attends classes at the University where he teaches. There, Ai meets Chen Nhai, his new Harley Davidson-riding classmate. 

14. En of Love: Tossara (2020) Thai

This is the story of Helga and Lord Rhys, there story is told over the course of 27 Chapters plus an Epilogue. This is the third book in the 'Shieldmaiden Sisters' series by Lucy Morris. The first two books concentrated on Helga's elder sisters Valda and Brynhild. Although this book is a part of a series you do not need to read the entire series to read this one. Although I would recommend the series.

Helga and Rhys's journey starts off on a rocky foot. With Rhys capturing Helga at the beginning. Part of their story is told while the two are on route back to Rhys's home. Throughout their journey home and the rest of the book the two slowly start to learn that the other is not what they seem. 

Although there is underlying chemistry between these characters it is not always welcome. Both try to fight this chemistry and pull they feel, though one tries harder than the other. This chemistry that is obvious to readers, puts this couple in interesting situations that readers will enjoy. 

Now Rhys and Helga may be the main couple but the background characters are just as interesting. Readers are given enough information on these background characters to make them fall in love and become interested in their story and how it interacts with the main story.  

Now let me tell you about the Author Lucy Morris, who has always been obsessed with myths and legends. Her books blend sweeping romances with vivid world building to whisk you away to another time and place filled with adventure. You can expect passion, drama and Vibrant characters. Lucy lives in Essex, UK with her husband, two young children and two cats. Lucy has a massive sweet tooth and loves gin, bubbly and Irn-Bru. She is a member of UK Romantic Novelists' Association, she was delighted a two-book deal with Harlequin after submitting her story to Warriors Wanted submission blitz for Viking, Medieval and Highlander romances. Writing for Harlequin Historical is a dream come true for her and she hopes you enjoy her books!

Overall I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the entire series. It is great to read a historical romance filled with strong female characters as well as strong male characters. Within this story readers will get the chance to watch Catriona and Ewan meet and get to know one another. Although their meeting is anything but conventional. The story uncovers the characters past with the hope of a different future. One that is completely opposite of their past experiences with love and relationships. 

This book is well written and draws the reader in from the start, wanting to know about the events that led to these two characters meeting. Not only that readers will want to discover exactly what made these characters who they are and what they have lived through. 

Now let me tell you about the Author Jeanine Englert, whose love affair with mysteries and romance began with Nancy Drew, Murder She Wrote and her grandmother's bookshelves full of romance novels. My Top 7 BTS Solo Tracks

It's time for another BTS related post! This time we are discussing the best Solo songs. Now this list (a bit like my first) is not in order of my preference. In fact for this list I have chosen one song for each member. This was easier to do for some of the members than others. 

For this list I only looked at the solo songs that were on the group albums. So any solo songs the guys have released like Astronaut, Daechwita, More etc will not be included. They may well get a list of their very own, but let me know in the comments if you want to see that list.

Blog Tour: A Laird in London by Catherine Tinley*

This is the story of Angus and Isabella, which is told over the course of 17 Chapters + an Epilogue. Their story is very much a will they won't they situation. The reader is constantly kept on their toes as to whether this pairing can find a way to a possible shared future. 

Throughout this book the point of view switches back and forth between the two leads. This is brilliant for this storyline as it really gives the readers a chance to watch these characters feelings develop. From their first meeting all the way to the end of the book, these point of view switches mean that readers are able to get a full picture. 

Not only do these main characters have great chemistry but some of the background characters do as well. One pair in particular is Isabella's brother Max and Angus's sister Eilidh. Although this pairing are background characters in this book, readers are given enough information and hints to keep them guessing as to how these two feel. Fingers crossed this pairing gets their own book in the future.

Let me tell you a little bit about the Author Catherine Tinley. She is an multi- award winning author who writes witty, heartwarming, historical romance. Her first novel, Waltzing with the Earl, won the  Rita® Award for Best Historical Romance in 2018, while Rags-to-Riches Wife won the RoNA Award for Best Historical Romace 2021 as well as the HOLTMedallion, and A Waltz with the Outspoken Governess won the RoNA Award for Best Historical Romance 2022.

She has loved reading and writing since childhood, and has a particular fondness for love, romance and happy endings. This is the story of Lady Rebekah and Raeden, which is told over the course of 12 Chapters as well as an epilogue. Now their story is one of two young lovers that torn apart by circumstances but are destined to meet later in life. 

Although both characters have had their fair share of traumatic experiences in the years they were apart, the real question is can they both move past these experiences together? From the moment these two meet again there is instant attraction and chemistry. These feelings get mixed reactions now that they are on different sides. 

Throughout the story the point of view switches between these two characters, this means readers are able to get a 360 view of their feelings as well as what they are thinking. This comes in handy when one of them is still hiding secrets, readers will get to find out small tid bits of these secrets and why they are staying a secret. For the time being that is. 

Miscommunication is a big player in the beginning of this book. This probably has something to do with all the simmering tension and how both character formed their opinion on the events of the past. Luckily the miscommunication does not last the entire book.

Now let me tell you about the Author Sarah Rodi, who has always been a hopeless romantic. Sarah grew up watching old, romantic movies that were recommended by her grandad or devouring love stories fromt he local Library. She lives in the village of Cookham in Berkshire, where she enjoys walks along the River Thames with her husband, two daughters and their dog. Overall I really enjoyed this book, I was both intrigued and curious by mid way through Chapter 2. From then on I was glued to this story, needing to find out whether these two characters could work out their and have a shared future. You can get your copy HERE
