Blog Tour: The Last Man by A.S. Kelly*

'I left at dawn on a rainy day.

I left as he slept, believing that he’d still find me in his arms when he woke up. I left, taking everything I’d promised him. I took it all, and neither of us would ever have it again.

I left, turning my back on everything I knew, believing I could never be part of it.

I left the man who loved me, the family who raised me. I left my home, my roots, my dreams. I left my whole life behind in search of a past that was never mine. I hurt everyone who loved me, and broke him into so many pieces that I know I’ll never deserve his forgiveness.

But I’m here, now, trying to rebuild everything I’ve destroyed. I’m trying to find what I thought I’d lost. And although he says that he’ll never be the same, though he says that there’s nothing left of him, I can’t abandon him again. I can’t say goodbye to us.

They say that you always find your way back to happiness, but I’ve found my way back to the only place I’ve ever felt at home.

I’ve found my way back to him.'

This is the story of Niamh and Noel which is told over the course of 46 Chapters plus an epilogue. Right from the start of this book it is obvious that these two are hiding their pain and they have shared past where they have both caused pain.

One thing every reader should be aware of is that tissues will be needed when you read this book and I don't mean in middle or at the end. I am talking all the way through! I had to stop reading at one point because I was using public transport and was tearing up. This book got hold of my emotions the moment I started and refused to let them go until I had read every word.

Niamh and Noel's past is the elephant in the room when these two meet again. Both have a history that hurt them and their own demons to fight. The question in this book is whether or not they can fight the demons and face the past together or whether this will keep them apart forever.

Now this book is part of the 'From Connemara with Love' Series, which this reader has been enjoying immensely. So throughout this book you do meet characters have their own story. That doesn't mean you need to read this series to be able to read this book. However you may end up buying one (or all) of the series by the time you finished. If you don't believe ask my kindle which gained a book before I finished this one!

Let me tell you about the Author Alex Kelly, who was born in Italy but lives in Ireland with her husband, two children and a cat named Oscar. She is passionate about English Literature, she's a music lover and addicted to coffee. She spends her days in a small village North of Dublin, looking for inspiration for her next stories. Rainy Days is her debut novel.

Overall I have been loving this series and this book is no exception. Any book I don't already own in this series is being brought and being added to my TBR. I love not only the characters of this series but also all the different stories that connect this town together. You can get your copy HERE.

Until Next Time
