Superdrugs Haul

Hey Guys,
So welcome back, so in typical female spirit I took a trip to Superdrugs the other day to pick up some I love products. If you read my Getting ready for summer post then you will know that I am absolutely in LOVE with the raspberry and blackberry products, if not check it out here. So obviously when I saw that they were half price I had to take advantage of this awesome offer! So in typical me fashion I went in for three products and came out with eight! So I decided to make a Haul post out of this little miracle. So let's get started!

So the first thing I picked up was one of the items I wanted to get is the I love Raspberry and Blackberry bubble bath and shower crème. Now I wanted this because I was already in love with the scent and was using my body scrub like crazy. I figured as I already have the body butter if I got this I could really layer that smell. Which is obviously a genius idea as this is completely a summer scent for me.

The next thing I picked up was another one I wanted to get. It was a brand new bottle of the body scrub as I was getting through my current one quite quickly. I love using this scrub before I shave or before using my body wash as it really makes my skin smooth. Also as it kind of foams up a little bit so you can totally use it by itself! BONUS!

I then picked up another of the body spritzer's as I'm already half done with my current one and I am slightly obsessed with it.  This was the third product that I actually wanted to get and with the offer on ALL of these products ended up being less than £2 each! Which is steal because they are awesome.

So this is where my impulse buying started! I didn't even realise this product was available but apparently the I love range has hand cream as well. I immediately thought that it was now possibly for me to moisturise my hands will still layering my scent. Well that and I kind of love hand cream and having soft hands!

So I don't know how it is possible to go into Superdrugs or any place they sell make up with out me having a look if not purchasing something. This time I had a look at a brand I haven't used at all. But I knew I wanted some kind of cream blush to use during the summer. Though we don't get much of one in England. Anyway I came across the brand NYC. I found this lovely blush in the colour 'Soho Pink'.  It is just this really cute colour which gives this very natural looking flush on your cheeks. So perfect!

So I kind of have a thing for lip products. I love trying new colours and seeing which colours suit me. So when I came across some in the NYC brand for £2 or less. My eyes must have brightened. Plus I'm always on the search for the perfect nude and the perfect nude pink colour. I ended up picking up three colours, again they were a bargain. The first one is 'Creamy Mauve' and to be honest I picked this up because I liked the name though it is a very pinkie colour. The next one I picked up is called 'Snowcone' which is this super cute baby pink colour! The last one I picked up is called 'Modern Love' which is a cute brighter pink colour.

Left to Right: Soho Pink, Creamy Mauve, Snowcone and Modern Love.

Let me know if you have tried any products from the NYC brand and what you think? Have you found any I love scents that are perfect for summer? Have you ever gone into Superdrugs and came out with more than you wanted? Let me know in the comments along with anything you want to see on this blog!

Review- Jurassic World

Hey Guys,

Welcome back. So I haven't done a review in a while and decided since I had planned to see Jurassic World that has only recently come out in the UK. I thought it's a sign this film just has to be reviewed. Now I'm hoping that all of you reading this have seen the Jurassic Park Trilogy. If not why are you reading this blog when you could be watching those films?
In all seriousness I did love the first three films, even if they scared me when I was a kid. I soon grew to love them even if I did end up having a dinosaur related dreams that night. Anyway I was super excited when I found out they were making a Fourth. So obviously I had to see it! Lets start with some facts, this movie was directed by Colin Trevorrow. Now obviously it was a big task to take on when two of the previous trilogy where directed by none other than Steven Spielberg, though Mr Spielberg was one of the producers for this film. The film has a running time 2 hours and 4 minute, yeah I know kind of a random length but oh well.

Now lets talk cast. The cast line up includes Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Ty Simpkins, Judy Greer, Irrfan Khan, Vincent D'Onofrio, Nick Robinson, Jake Johnson, Omar Sy and BD Wong. Now I will admit that I haven't heard of some these. I know one of them was in New Girl, one of them was in the original Jurassic Park and another was a in Guardians of the Galaxy. I'll let you guys figure out who was in what.

Now the plot of this film is as follows 'Twenty Two years after the events of Jurassic Park, Isla Nublar now features a fully functioning dinosaur theme park. Jurassic World, as originally envisioned by John Hammond. After 10 years of operation and visitor rates declining, in order to fulfil a corporate mandate, a new attraction is called to re-spark visitor's interest, which backfires horribly.' Now from this and the trailers that have been seen we can all guess what is going to happen in the movie. I  must be honest and truthful and say at some points like the other Jurassic Movies it does get to a point where you think 'I know what is going to happen'. However as we have found from the last movies Jurassic seems to surprise us at the end. At least this one surprised me. I really did enjoy this film and noticed that in the cinema there were lots of guys and girls going to see this. Parents I will let you figure out if you want your kids to see this movie. At the end of the day it is rated PG, even if there is big old Dinosaurs killing things all the way through. I'll also let you guys into a little secret, this movie made me jump a few times, but no Dinosaur related for this blogger.. yet.

Ok so if you have followed my blog and seen my previous film reviews you have probably seen that I like to put in something especially for my female readers. The film hunk of the week and this review will not be any different. We can all probably guess who will win this. But drum roll please the winner is......... CHRIST PRATT. Big shocker there I know but lets face it, he is a hunk. I thought he was gorgeous in Guardians of the galaxy but chuck him in a dinosaur movie and somehow he gets hotter! This gun wielding man was amazing in this role.

Now before I leave you to the rest of your day I just want to share a little bit of information that I found out recently. It is said that our film hunk Chris Pratt has signed on to do the Jurassic World sequel. Now I don't know how true this is. The film like the other three ended in a way that meant it could be the end or there could be another one. So I will leave you with that thought.

Until Next Time

Getting Ready For Summer

Hey guys,
Since the season has suddenly turned into summer I thought I would share how I get my body ready for summer. Now before I begin I have to admit that I have a love/hate relationship with summer. I love the season but hate the preparation and all the shaving that seems to go along with the season.  Let's be real now girls, in summer you have to shave those legs because they are out on show! Anyone enough about this lets get going on the actual blog!

1. Exfoliating!
Not only does exfoliating get rid of dead skin but it also reduces the chances of ingrown hairs, bonus! I have also found that exfoliating helps give me a closer shave, which is brilliant! Let's face it a closer shave means the hair will take longer to grow back which again is a huge bonus!
Now don't go thinking you have to go out and buy some body scrub to complete this step or even make one. No a body puff with normal shower gel also works for this step. When I really want to pamper my body I will use both but just one will usually do the trick!

So these are the products that I love to use when exfoliating! The scrub is from Superdrug's and I am completely in love with the scent. It isn't a harsh scrub which is brilliant but it works wonders when you use it on your body. Especially since if you add some water you can also get a little lather going. This makes it so much easier when applying it to your skin. The brand has actually called this scrub a shower smoothie but I still love it! If you are interested in this product the link is here.
The body puff can be brought anywhere really. I got this one in a Dove gift set in the Christmas Sales. These can be brought at any drug store really. I will pop a link to the Superdrug's website where you can purchase on of these here.

2. Shaving!
So this next part is probably very obvious to you guys but it is essential in the summer and that's shaving. I'm not talking down there, get your minds out the gutter.  I'm talking about the legs and the underarms. I'm not ashamed to say that I get hairy legs and underarms. Shocker there! Anyway with summer comes shorts and sleeveless tops! Which means the areas that are normally hidden won't be.

Now I'm going to put my hand up and say that I find shaving an absolute chore. I hate it but its a necessity. I will point out right now that in the winter when my legs are hidden by trousers and jeans, I will put off shaving for as long as I can. But like I have already said summer I lose that excuse so what I like to do is shave once a week, which I can usually get away with. So on a Sunday Pamper night I will do my shaving and pray that my leg hair doesn't grow back quickly!

I have two razors that I like to use at the moment. The first one is the Wilkinson Sword Hydro Silk, which is pictured above. I actually got this razor in my February Glossy box. I have loved the shape of the razor as it seems to sit perfectly in my hand when I use it.  I also have noticed that the band around the 5 blades does mean I don't get any irritation, which is brilliant. Now obviously I will use shaving gel when I use this razor cause no one wants a shaving rash. Let's face it you only make that mistake once. Now I'm not really picky when it comes to my shaving gel but the one I have recently emptied is the Olay and Venus. If you are interested in this razor you can get it here. Alternatively if you are interested in the Shaving gel you can get it here. I love using these product during my Sunday Pamper Shower.

Now the second razor I like to use is the one I use when I am feeling lazy and my leg hair decides to grow quicker than I wish it would. The above pictured razor is the Gillette Venus & Olay razor. This is the perfect razor for when a girl is feeling particularly lazy. The reason this razor is perfect for that is because this razor comes with Olay's moisture bars both above and below the blades. For those who don't know what this means, it basically means that these bars make shaving gel redundant. The bars will not only moisturise your skin after you have shaved but before as well. The blades make this the perfect razor for travelling and a quick mid week touch up. Not using shaving gel means, it will shave a little time off when shaving those legs. This razor does leave my legs and underarms feeling really smooth. If you are interested in this product you can get it here.

3. Moisturise
Now the next step is something every girl is probably familiar with but it is still essential. Not only does moisturising make your body feel nice and soft it also helps to restore moisture in the skin. Plus I don't know about you guys but I always feel amazing after I have moisturised and have silky smooth skin. Now I don't tend to stick to the same moisturiser as I do like to mix things up a bit. Though I do love a moisturiser that says it has long lasting affects and yes this is going back to me being lazy. It also comes down to the fact that I don't have time every morning to moisturise my body before I head off to work. So a long lasting one works really well especially since it means if I don't have time to moisturise one day I know I am covered. Kind of anyway.

Lately I have been using this moisturiser from Nivea. It is there irresistibly smooth body lotion and I do like it. It says it is long lasting and I do believe it is telling the truth. I have lathered this on before bed and my skin is still feeling smooth in the morning and when I finish work. Which is brilliant. I love putting body lotion on straight after a shower. I always feel like it works better, I don't know if this is true but I like to think it works better. Plus I don't know if it is just me but I love running my hand over smooth skin and smooth legs in the summer is essential. Especially if you get out in the sun that's going to de hydrate you. So the best way I think to combat this is body lotion. If you are interested in this moisturiser you can get it here.

4. Foot Care
Now you can completely ignore this step if you have super smooth feet and don't suffer from dry heels, you can also be safe in the knowledge that I am jealous of you right now. I happen to be one of the people who suffer with dry, cracked heels and let's face it they don't exactly look attractive in a cute pair of flip flops! They don't look attractive in any shoes except trainers cause they are all hidden. So I like to make sure to get my feet ready for summer where they will probably spend most of the season in flip flops or sandals. There has been one product which I have fallen in love with.

From the above picture above you can probably guess that the product I am in love with is the Soap & Glory Heel Genius. Now if you suffer from dry heels or dry feet I seriously recommend you get this product. Now this is literally like a miracle product. All you have to do is massage this into your feet before bed and I like to put on moisturising socks on. Then you get some beauty sleep and let the cream do it's thing. I saw a difference after one night. My feet looked less dry and more summer ready. The best bit about this cream is that you don't even have to remember to put this on every night, you can just put it on when you remember. I try for every other night but usually fail. I do like to make sure that I put it on twice a week! If you are interested in this product you can get it here.

5. Hydrate!
Now my final step when it comes to getting ready for summer is keeping hydrated. We don't get much sunshine in Southampton but I still like to try and up my intake of water. Personally I have seen that when I drink more water I have less dry skin. I don't know if upping your water intake actually helps you with dry skin, but I have found it helps me with mine. Now I prefer cold water , to room temperature water and this really is a personal preference so I will also drink a bottle of water fill it up with tap water and then place it in the fridge for a couple of hours until it is nice and cold again. I find this helps with upping my intake! Now I do tend to use plastic bottles but if you feel like a sports bottle works better for you then do that.

Ok so that just about finishes this blog post! Let me know how you get ready for summer. Don't forget that if you want to see anything here to let me know in the comments or on social media.
Until Next Time.

Meeting Lindsey Kelk- aka the best day EVER

Now this is going to be a little different from the rest of my posts as this concentrates on my lifestyle. So this day started a few weeks before with a post on Facebook! A post saying that Lindsey Kelk, THE Lindsey Kelk was coming to Southampton for a book signing. It's safe to say that I had to hold in the urge to scream with excitement. You may have seen my reviews I have previously done on some of Lindsey Kelks books, if not go check them out. The best way to describe Lindsey Kelk's books is that they are the perfect chick flick in a book! So this post not only gave me a chance to meet my favourite author but also an excuse to buy her new book, not that I need an excuse! If you want check out my reviews just click on the one you want to see. About a Girl or I Heart Series.

Now due to the fact that, unless it is shopping, I don't like doing things myself I kinda told my friend Helen that she had to come with me. It's safe to say now she is also a fan. Before the signing however she hadn't heard of Lindsey Kelk, which in my opinion is a complete shame. So the signing was scheduled for 12pm at Waterstones in West Quay within the city centre. So naturally I told my friend to meet me at 10! Let's face it I would rather lose my beauty sleep then miss this chance!
Now this next bit may sound weird but I made sure that on Saturday 9th May 2015 I was up early getting myself ready. You know the whole washing my hair, doing my make up and choosing my outfit. I wanted to look amazing and I also thought that if I looked good it may just give me the confidence I needed to actually say more than one word to Lindsey Kelk! Now if you follow me on Twitter you have seen the next picture but here it is for the rest of you. My make up and hair for the day, very simple.

Now I'll admit I was feeling fine and even when I got into the city centre and met my friend I was getting excited already. Waterstones had set up a display with Lindsey's books. Me and my friend started talking boys and usual girl talk until a lovely lady in a gorgeous yellow coat came up to us and asked if we were waiting for Lindsey. Turns out that this lady was called Michele and was also a Lindsey fan. It wasn't long until we got to talking about the books and New York. It wasn't long til someone else joined us and our conversation.

So this ended up being the lovely ladies I met. You have Michele, Helen, me and Tori. While we were waiting for Lindsey and in between all the talking an employee from Waterstons came out and wrote our names on a sticky and stuck it to our books. So Lindsey knew how to correctly spell all our names. I really loved this touch as it shows just how much she cares! Next before we knew it Tori pointed Lindsey out as she walked past. What is a girl suppose to do apart from take a picture of her back!

Now for the readers who don't know who Lindsey Kelk is she is wearing blue shoes and carrying a red bag (that was gorgeous). And I have to admit from the brief glance I got as she walked past the women is so pretty!! So as you can imagine we all got more excited at this point because it was finally sinking in that we were going to meet her! Though one thing all of us could agree on is that the I heart series or any of her books really needs to be made into a FILM!!
Now I don't know if it was us but we were pretty impressed when the employees at Waterstones put out green and pink m&ms, which had Lindsey's name on! How cool is that?

Now I have to admit something a little embarrassing. I was so nervous to meet Lindsey Kelk that when they finally said to go I had to drag my friend in with me. I know total wimp. Lindsey started her signing early which was awesome and an employee told us that we could chat with her as well as take pictures! Yay!
Now when me and Helen got to her table Londsey admitted that she forgot her pen and left it downstairs. So we stood there and got our photos taken and started chatting about anything including Fifty Shades Of Grey!  What was also quite awesome about this signing is that they gave out a small bottle of wine and a straw with Lindsey's name on it.

How cool is that. She obviously knows the way to her readers hearts!

Now not only was Lindsey down to earth but she was also more pretty close up. One thing me and Helen couldn't stop mentioning to each other afterwards was how down to earth Lindsey was.

Now I know that I have rambled on a lot but it was a big day in my life. That may make me sound sad but I honestly don't care. This one day gave me a meet and greet with my favourite author, a signed copy of her new book and a new friend in Michele. Now I'm going to say goodbye and leave you with the last few pictures and see you next time.

New Year Time to Hit Refresh

Happy New Year! My lovely Lemon Drops.

January is upon us and it's all about hitting refresh and making changes. It's about now in the New Year where everyone starts to make resolutions if they haven't made them already. Though if we are being completely honest these resolutions tend to be forgotten or broken by the time Valentine's Day Rolls around if not before. So instead of trying to make big changes why don't we all try making small changes?

One resolution that's normally on everyone's list is to lose weight, I happen to know it's always on my list. So instead of trying to lose weight by starving ourselves or by going on some crazy diet. How about we make weekly small changes to help us toward the goal of losing weight?

An example of making a small change is by one week cutting out all sweets and chocolate. This small change isn't likely to registrar on our radar, and after completing one week of this it will get easier. Then the following week add another small change. Apparently it takes repeating the same thing for 8 weeks for it to become a regular part of the day. So making a small change will eventually become completely natural to you. Now I'm not saying that every once in a while you can't indulge that sweet tooth as long as it is once in a while and not a weekly thing. For example having a small bar of dairy milk or galaxy once a month as a treat. A kind of congratulations to yourself for making it through the month.
I have also read somewhere that it takes a person 4 weeks for them to notice changes in their body, it takes their friends 8 weeks to notice and a whole 12 weeks for the rest of the world to notice. I guess by knowing this what I'm trying to say is don't give up. Keep going because at the end of the day if it's something you really want nothing will stop reaching your goal. Also when it comes to weight loss you have to make sure you are doing it for the right reasons. Getting an other half by losing weight isn't a good reason. On the other hand trying to be healthier and feeling better about yourself is a good worthy reason.

Another resolution that is usually on my list is to save money! I think this tends to be on a few peoples list and maybe it will last a couple months but then it tends to go down the drain with the rest of the resolutions.

Now you are probably sat there thinking this lady is crazy how am I suppose to make small changes when it comes to saving money? But I'm going to say this. Saving money doesn't have to be going for cheaper products when buying your shopping. It doesn't have to be pinching pennies when you want to go out. I'm not talking about any of that. What I'm talking about is putting money aside during the month and saving it the old fashioned way. Whether you decide to do this online in a e savings account or whether you prefer to have a money box sat on your side showing you your efforts. I'm going to be following a table to save money this year. In particular the one below.

Now I know this table is in dollars not pounds but I saw this on pinterest and really liked the look of this. I may make my own adjustments to fit around my bills that need paying but I still intend to do this.

So that's jt, those are my tips on making small changes that hopefully last all year instead of going down the drain in January. Let me know in the comments if you would be interested in monthly updates following my progress on this. Don't forget if you want to see anything on my blog this year just ask.

Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 1 // Review

So while visiting my Dad this weekend we decided to take a trip to the cinema, just to spice up your Saturday night. Knowing that I love the Hunger Games and it had just come out, going to see the latest installment really was a no brainer!

For those of my readers who haven't heard of this movie series, it originally started out as a trilology of books by author Suzanne Collins! Now the books were obviously a hit as the film industry decided that it needed to be made into a film .

The books are based on a country known as Panem, which consists of the Capitol and the 12 (previously 13) districts. Where due to a rebellion the districts are forced to take part in the Hunger Games. A game were one boy and one girl from every district compete in a kill or be killed type games. Twenty four go into the games but only one will come out. Any boy or girl aged 12-18 could be picked at random to compete.  The story focuses on Katiness Everdeen a 16 year old girl, who's is just trying to take care of her mum and little sister.

Anyway on to the Mockingjay Part 1, which sees the return of stars Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutchinson. As well as the arrival of Julianne Moore and Evan Ross. All these actors played their roles superb within this installment. The audience even got to see a part of Katness that hasn't been displayed yet. Even the late Phillip Seymour Hoffman played his role well.

Now one thing you guys should know is that I love this series the books captivated me and so far the movies haven't let me down. Saying that I must admit, if I'm honest, that this installment of the third book did lack some action. Now anyone who has read the books will know that the first half of the last book does not contain many action scenes. I will admit that there were a couple small action scenes that did satisfy that action bug inside me.

I even asked my Dad what he thought and he said that he did like it and it was lacking in action.  However he also said that it's a must see for anyone who is following the Hunger games movie series. I will admit that I agree whole heartedly.

Let me know what you thought of the movie, if you have seen it or if you plan to see it.

Until next time

Lush Haul

Hello My Lovely Readers,
Now I am sure we have all walked past a Lush shop at least once in our lives! When I was younger and still in my teens I have to say I had no clue what they sold or even anything apart from it smelt amazing when I walked past it. Then I started watching YouTube Beauty Gurus and finally found out about the shop and it has taken me a long time until I finally stepped into the shop.

Now I immediately liked the shop, apart from the fact that I went in around Christmas so the shop was bursting with live. I found the staff super helpful and even managed to smell some of the products I had heard raved about in the many You Tube videos I have watched.  I knew I wanted to try some products.  The staffs in the shop in Southampton were super helpful, they helped me pick out products just by knowing what kind of smells I like. I did like the shop so much that I ended up back in there shortly before new year.

The first one I wanted to try was a Lip Scrub and I picked one up in Popcorn for the pure reason that I love popcorn. I was excited when I first used it and had high expectations. It truly lived up to those expectations except I wasn’t a fan of the taste but it isn’t and it certainly hasn’t put me off. My lips just feel super smooth once I have used this.

The second product I picked up was a Butterball bath ballistic, I had heard people rave about this product and sadly it’s still sat in my draw at home just waiting for me to use it. But it did smell amazing when I gave it a good smell in the shop, which is why it ended up in my basket.

The third product I picked up was a Creamy Candy Bath bubble bar slice; it’s a mouthful for sure. Now for a bubble bar you crumble it under running water and I did use this product. I loved the smell of it and it gave my bath a pink tinge which I also loved.  I adored so much I have since been back and brought another one.  My mum even loved this one.

The fourth and final product I picked up in Lush was a shampoo. Now I have a weird thing going on with my scalp which means I can’t use normal shampoo, it’s usually the medicated kind. Nothing terrible but not fun. I picked up the Rehab shampoo which on the staff of the shop said was good for scalp conditions. I did like shampoo and it smelt considerably better than any of the medicated stuff I have used.

So there you have it a girl’s discovery of Lush. So let me know what products you like to buy from this shop. Let me know if you recommend any products would love an excuse to go back into Lush and spend more money to pamper myself.

Until Next Time

Xx
