'She can't hit the snooze on her biological clock forever...
Love, career, kids—Brooklyn Monroe wants it all. Her beauty company? A triumph. Her love life? Total fail. At 42, that makes motherhood her top priority. With no man in her life, she’s prepared to fly solo, but her plan is derailed when a mailing list mishap turns Brooklyn into a someone-get-me-pregnant internet meme. Making her PR nightmare go away entails a soul-baring interview on national TV. And the guy asking the questions? Her all-too sexy ex.
Talk show host Alec Trakas is the king of bad timing. Case in point, his heartbreaking romance with Brooklyn. Alec was all about commitment but Brooklyn was launching her start-up, and forever wasn’t in the cards. Now a shot at his ultimate dream job depends on convincing Brooklyn to spill the secrets leading to her viral celebrity. It sets Alec’s star rising, but puts Brooklyn in a sea of flirty men. Fate has thrown them back together. Sparks are flying. But is the timing finally right? Because having it all might not be worth the risk of losing each other again.'
This is the story of Brooklyn and Alec, two people who have a past and are wondering whether or not it is too late to go back. Their story is told over the course of 26 Chapters (+Epilogue). Throughout this book both Brooklyn and Alec think about their shared past and how it all ended.
The characters in this book and very relatable meaning that the readers can connect with the situations they are in. Brooklyn has the high powered career in the field that she knows and loves but is suddenly hearing her biological clock ticking in her ears. She questions whether it is possible to have it all. Alec on the other hand is a changed man following his latest breakup and has re evaluated his position on things. Readers will be able to connect with some part of these characters.
This book is full of interesting and intriguing moments that compel readers to carry on reading until they have read every single word, until they know the full story. There is one question that will play through readers minds while they uncover this story. Is it wise to go back? Thankfully the question is answered for these characters in this book.
Now let me tell you about the Author Karen Booth, who is a midwestern girl transplanted into the South. She was raised on 80s music and repeated readings of 'Forever' by Judy Blume. A writer of contemporary romance and women's fiction, which almost always about the dreamy guy you never thought you would get. The stories are full of breathless kisses, tearjerker moments, family dynamics and more than a few things she is glad her grandmother never read.
Overall this book is full of moments that romance readers adore. Not only that I have discovered it is also the second book in the 'Never Too Late' series. Which means only one thing. There is another book out there waiting to be read when you finish this one. You can get your copy HERE
Until Next Time
