Belle has been numb since her mother died, and she can’t face Christmas at home without her. Instead she books a surprise holiday to her “happy place” – the Magic Kingdom. But her boyfriend James has problems of his own. He doesn’t “do Disney” and what will his mother think of him missing their family Christmas to go to Disneyland with Belle?
A festive romance with a sprinkling of pixie dust.'
This is the story of Belle and James, and a thing to note is that there are no chapters in this book. It is a refreshing change and readers will love the change in format. One thing that stands out about this book apart from the Disneyland Paris setting is that it is interesting and intriguing from the get go.
One theme in this book is Belle trying to move on from her mother's death. This is very much a different theme compared to other books especially when it is combined with Disney. Belle is a true believer in Disney magic whereas James, not so much. James is more of a practical, rugby loving guy. There relationship is a little bit like opposites attract, but they really do work together.
This story is chock full of great descriptions that will make the reader truly believe they are experiencing Disneyland Paris. Readers will come away from this book wanting to visit Disneyland Paris, if they haven't voyaged there already. The story is also full of Disney references that all Disney fans will truly love and enjoy when they discover them.
Now let me tell you about the Author Elsa Simonetti, who was born the same year as Walt Disney World though many miles away in the north of England. The earliest Disney memory she has is crying while watching Bambi at the Saturday morning cinema club! Her husband introduced her to the magic of Disneyland Paris when her own children were little. That was when she became obsessed and proving Walt Disney's own belief ' Laughter is timeless, imagination has no age and dreams are forever'. That was the seed of this story - Disneyland is not just for children, but anyone who is young at heart. Elsa also writes romantic women's friction under the name of Liz Taylorson.
Overall I absolutely loved this story, not only because I have my own obsession with Disney. This is a brilliant Christmas read full of love, heartwarming moments and Disney Magic. This will not be the last book I read by Elsa or Liz. Both non Disney fans and Disney fans alike will enjoy this story. You can get your copy HERE
