Blog tour: The First Man by Alex Kelly*

'Shane
Do you want to know what it means to live like me? It means being forced not to look at him, not to touch him, not to be left alone in the same room as him. Not to seek him out. Not to want him. Not to love him. Do you know how it feels to spend your entire life pretending to be someone else? Do you know what it’s like to love someone who doesn’t want to be loved?
I’ll tell you how it feels. It feels as if you’re living in constant torment: you know which path you should follow, but you also know that, if you follow that path, you can never turn back. And I can’t do that to him. Every day I come back, because I know that he’s waiting for me.
Every day I promise him that he will never have to live without me.

Andy
Do you know what it means to live like me? It means being forced not to touch him, not to kiss him, not to be able to leave the room while he’s still in it. Not to breathe him in, not to lust after him. Not to love him. Do you know how it feels to spend your entire life pretending to be someone else? Do you know what it’s like to love the only person you’re not allowed to love?
I’ll tell you how it works. You can’t seem to feel anything other than him; when you walk away, you know that you’re turning your back on the only thing that’s good in your life.
Yet you still walk away. Every day I leave, knowing that he will be standing there, watching.
Every day I ask him to promise me that I will never have to live without him.'

This is the story of Shane & Andy, which consists of 75 Chapters and is a M&M romance. It is the second in the 'From Connemara With Love' series. This story is intriguing from the story and is a brilliant friends to lovers series full of character interactions. These character interactions are mixed in the respect that some are between family while others are between friends.

One of the main themes I see in this book is secret love and being true to who you are. Throughout the book we are given both Shane & Andy's point of view on present events as well as how it all began in the past. The best thing about going to the past is not only does the reader discover how they became to be who they are but also because it switches point of view the reader is given a chance to see how they both really feel.

The only thing that can be said about the character interaction is that it is on point. The author gives you just enough information about the different characters so they do not take away from the main two but also it's enough for the readers to be left wanting to know more about these characters.

Let me tell you about the Author Alex Kelly, who writes uplifting, emotional and heartwarming romantic fiction and family saga. She is a bibliophile, a Yogi, a lover of English Literature and a baking enthusiast. Alex was born in Italy but now lives in Ireland with her husband their two children and a cat named Oscar.

Overall I enjoyed this book immensely, it left me with the need to not only read the first book within this series but hope that this will not be the last one. Once I started this book I found myself unable to put it down, to the point that after I woke up the following morning the first thing I did was to continue reading. You can get your copy HERE

Until Next Time
